Causes of Snoring

There isn’t just one cause of snoring, in fact there are often times multiple causes of snoring for an individual. Snoring by definition is started by vibration from the air you breath while sleeping. He only experience snoring during sleep for the reason that our bodies are so at ease and our muslces are so relaxed that they easily vibrate.
During rest our voluntary muscles in the throat are very relaxed. The softness of the pallet makes it very easy for vibrartions to travel throughout the throat. As the muscles relax the airways narrow in turn causing greater vibrations. The volume of a snore is dependent on the strength of the wind that is forced through ones air passages. When the force is stronger, you’ll produce a louder sounding snore.
Men and women of all ages are effected by snoring, even babies making snoring noises, but are often understood to juts be mild noises similar to the sound of a whimper. However middle-aged men are most prone to snoring since they have fleshier necks and wind tunnels. Men usually also create more powerful streams of air causing louder snoring. Women are less likely to snore due to their production or progesterone hormones which inhibit snoring. These same hormones are used in many anto-snoring treatments as a natural way to fight snoring.
Allergies and congestion are pesky causes of snoring as well. Allergies can inflame air passages, in turn causing snoring. Alcohol consumption can cause ones body to relax more than normal causing the throat to close more, which as youknow causes snoring. Smoking which irritates the throat can tighten ones air passages as well. Obesity or a large stomach is a common cause of excessive snoring as well.
